It's been ten years since Dr Gunnel replaced my right knee. During that procedure my femur was broken. He placed a metal over the break and secured it with several screws. Since that time I returned to Phoenix AZ and suffered a great deal of pain and discomfort. After seeing an orthopedic surgeon it was determined that the best treatment would be to replace the replacement. In order to do this a replacement extending approximately 4-6" above my ankle to approximately 8-9" below my hip was used. After physical therapy I was doing fairly well, but it didn't last long. I cannot bring myself to see another orthopedic surgeon. More pain is the last thing I can deal with.
