Was there on 8/4 & 8/5. When we got back to our room at 5pm from sightseeing we found our room not made up. There was an employee on the floor and housekeeping. I got towels from them so we could shower for an event. Thought we'd have our room made up and replacement of toiletries and coffee by the time we returned from our event, but no it still wasn't made up. When I mentioned it to front desk all I got was that they were very busy because of the events.
This was a great value hotel! Located downtown Elko, it's within walking distance to lots of restaurants, but isn't too far off the interstate, making it convenient for travelers. The rooms are very nice - clean, well kept, and modern. The bathrooms are also clean and very well maintained. The shower pressure was awesome! I was in a non-smoking room and didn't have any problems with cigarette smell, but the casino downstairs is a different matter. Very friendly staff. A really great hotel - I would definitely stay here again!
The casino's smoke filters into the restaurant, which isn't good or healthy. Check out day went smoothly, except that they only had 2 people in the restaurant, which was packed, and we couldn't even get coffee while we waited. After 1/2 we went up to the counter and it went a lot faster. It's unfortunate that the management, knowing they had several events going on didn't have more staff scheduled.
The room was not bad for the price. My experience with the staff was great. I would rate even less if it wasn't for the staff. The room wasn't bad, the bed was comfy. But when we got the Room we didn't realize the rooms were more of a motel style. Our room was connected to another room. I could hear everything through that door. A very loud family yelling at eachother. They even let their kid bang on that door and play with the door stopper. It was awful!!
Upon arriving at the Ramada Elko Hotel I had my doubts. The outside looks a bit rough and I had not realized it was a casino when I booked. I've stayed at cheap casino rooms before and I'm never happy with them. Most of the time the focus is on the gambling and the room is a last priority. That was not my experience this time. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room, and the service that I received. The pool was cold, but clean. The continental breakfast was a coupon good for 4 choices at the restaurant inside the casino. This also was worrisome to me, but the restaurant food was great. All in all the Elko Ramada exceeded all of my expectations. I would recommend it to anybody, and I will stay there again.
The people were all very friendly and helpful. My wife thought that the room was a little dusty, as if it hadn't been rented in a while and needed a good once over. I thought it was fine.
