Ater arriving home with a still terrible sounding car, turns out it still needed several thousand more in repairs!!
Do not go here unless you know your transmission needs to be replaced!! I drove my car for an hour in 4 wheel drive on the freeway before arriving at elko, which is why my car was having issues.I brought my suburban in to a guy at a tire shop and he said it looked like the transmission needed to be checked. I drove it into elko transmissions to have them check it out. No sooner had i driven it in did they say the transmission needed to be replaced. My husband was not there, so i got him on the phone with the guy. We decided to go ahead and replace it if that is all the car needed, which the guy assured us that was all that was wrong with it.
AWESOME service, great price and fantastic people! They have replace three transmissions for us and the latest one was days before a road trip to Alaska. We will keep going to Elko Tranmissions!
The only reason I did not give them a one is because they did a little bit of work but the story is that I bought a truck from a guy who had just had a rebuilt transmission done by Elko transmission. I bought the truck and it had lots of other problems but the transmission was just done and under warranty. I checked with Elko transmission and they told me it was still under warranty. Over the next for months I continue to be in contact with them about the transmission because there were leaks and they agreed continuously that they would fix it. Then my reverse went out and I set up an appointment to come get the transmission fixed. I got there nobody was there. Then the guy that I talked to finally showed up around noon and I had to be home that night and I live 3 hours away. Long story short they didn't pull my truck into the shop to look at it until 4:30 that afternoon. Then they told me they didn't have time so they would have to work on it tomorrow. The next day they did fix two weeks but told me that they were not fixing anything else essentially. When he handed me the keys he warned me that reverse wouldn't last long. In the shop they told me the transmission warranty was invalid because it was not in my name but in the name of the previous owner. That is not what they stated over the phone in any of the contacts that I had with them over the four-month period. Long story short 5 minutes after I pulled out of the shop reverse was gone again. I just drove home to Ely and sucked it up and bought a new transmission somewhere else and will have to do the work myself. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed in their customer service.
They replaced the transmission fine, and gave us a lower cash price, which also made me a little uneasy.
These guys are top notch! i was coming from Colorado on my way to Washington and of course Murphy's law my pick up burns its transmission up outside of elko caught a tow truck to elko transmissions i got there at 10:00 and was back on the road at 6:00 needless to say they busted there ass and and got me rolling again!!!!!!!i was more than pleased thanks guys you really helped me out... big time...
I took it back on the road and it still didnt feel right. When my husband called back to ask for the old transmission to double check if it really was bad, the guy said they already repaired it and put it on the shelf. Red flags!
Had my car in and out in one day! Very fast and great group of people. No problems on my car ever since! Would recommend to anybody.
